As technology evolves, operators around the world are switching off their 2G/3G networks in favour of their
4G/5G networks. This may change how you access Voice, SMS and Data Roaming services outside of Ireland.

All Tesco Mobile customers are automatically set up to use their phones abroad. This service is called roaming. Tesco Mobile has teamed up with an international roaming partner which gives our customers world-wide access to hundreds of destinations. Please note that some handsets may need the settings to be changed before you can use your phone abroad – you’ll know if you need to change the settings if you don’t have a service when you arrive in your destination. If you are calling a non-EU Number while Roaming in Europe you will be charged at standard roaming rates, for further details please review the Roaming Rates table on this page.

Data Roaming

When you reach your destination, we will send you a text to notify you of the roaming costs.
Incoming and outgoing calls while roaming in Zone 1 are charged as per the domestic charging intervals – click here for charging information while roaming in the EU. Incoming and outgoing calls while roaming in Zones 2 to 8 are charged per minute, with a minimum 1 minute charge.
Roaming services may vary from those that you enjoy in ROI (including but not limited to speed, latency and/or the availability of roaming services) due to various factors including but not limited to coverage, topography and/or technology. Certain types of services may also be subject to increased charges when roaming, including but not limited to premium rate, freephone and/or low cost numbers. International calling
